Teresa Knapp - I have worked with exchange students for 17 years. I began by hosting and then as a coordinator, then a regional coordinator. We have hosted 13 students from numerous countries and have loved all of them. I spent 12 years as a regional coordinator, working with and watching over 100 to 150 students each year. I have loved getting to know different people as well as different cultures. As my boys were growing up; I spent time as a room mother for each, I was PTA president for 5 years and had activities each month for the students in our school, I began a Little League program here and served as the treasurer for 10 years as well as umpiring for all three of my sons games, I refereed soccer for about 3 of those years, I substituted in our school for grades K - 12 for about 8 years, I was chairman of our school board for 2 years, and served on various committees for the State Department of Education. Although I do not have any degrees, there is not much that I have not learned where teenagers are concerned! I look forward to working with you and wish you a very prosperous and blessed year. |
