Nancy Roberts - Foreign exchange was the perfect answer for me to be involved with kids and culture, two of my favorite things. I raised two separate families: six kids the first time, then an only daughter. Even though I have a pack of grandkids they are not here nearly enough. I have traveled some - to South and Central America, to Europe, and to China but the visits were all too brief and I really admire these kids who come from another country and culture to spend 5 to 12 months immersed in our culture. Now that my last daughter is here only part-time and off to college soon what better way to have kids in my life than these brave kids from other countries. I get kids, cultures, and invitations to visit! At this point I have hosted and/or placed over 30 kids and have new friends all over the world. I really believe that foreign exchange does contribute to world peace and am always looking for ways to promote it. I place kids all over South West Washington and in NW Oregon. I share my little farm at La Center with my daughter Sasha, our dog Lady Kate, 3 cats, bunnies, goats, llamas and numerous birds inside and out. |
